Structure Fire on Walker Drive – Princeton Township

On February 8th, 2009 at 3:19 hours Station 53 was dispatched as a RIC (Rapid Intervention Crew) to a 2 alarm structure fire on Walker Drive in Princeton Township.  Princeton’s 3 fire departments, along with other area departments, responded and reported heavy fire on the second floor upon arrival.  An interior attack was attempted, however due to the amount of fire, crews retreated from the structure and master streams went into service.  53-C1 was designated as accountability officer.  Once the fire was knocked down, crews re-entered the structure to check for hot spots and further extension.  Due to the extent of the fire, the house was deemed uninhabitable.  531 was released from location at 6:12 hours.

Structure Fire on Marion Road West – Princeton Township

On January 8th, 2009 at 21:27 hours Station 53 was dispatched to a 3 alarm structure fire on Marion Road West in Princeton Township.  Princeton’s fire departments along with several other area departments responded.  Upon arrival, engine 531 hooked up to a hydrant, dropped 1000 feet of 5 inch supply line and supplied Tower 62 and Squirt 63.  53-C1 assisted command with running the incident.  Crews attempted an interior attack, however due to the intense heat and fire, they were removed and exterior operations were used.  After the fire was knocked down, crews were not allowed to enter the structure due to the first floor collapsing into the basement.  Command called for a backhoe to assist in gaining access to the basement so crews could extinguish the remaining hot spots.  The home was deemed uninhabitable, and no injuries were reported.  Engine 531 cleared up on January 9th at 2:57 hours.
